At
the end of 2005 the direction of my art changed dramatically.
Instead of time-consuming portraits I started drawing everyday
objects - charting the personal items around the house and what
they meant to me. I started a blog
and the need to keep it updated provided self-imposed deadlines.
As I
was living in Kuwait at the time, I realised that my unusual
surroundings would make interesting material. I found that the
process of sketching everyday helped me greatly to speed up my
drawing technique. With drawing came writing and with writing
came photographs, which opened my eyes to the wealth of
inspiration around me everyday.
